Resolve dependencies
List material assessment, leak repairs, fixture changes and access work. Ask which tasks must finish before surface preparation begins. Stains or damage may need another trade’s attention. Do not book cosmetic finishing as though it also resolves the underlying cause. Make the responsible person and the evidence of readiness explicit for each dependency.
Name checkpoints
Discuss what will be reviewed after preparation and before final finishing. Ask how unexpected conditions are recorded and approved. Include readiness checks before primer and paint, following product instructions and professional assessment. A calendar should show dependencies instead of only dates that assume each stage is ready immediately. Keep changes visible to everyone coordinating the work.
Plan handover as a task
Agree on cleanup, final review, documentation and room return. State whether the surface is ready for another painter or handed over as a painted ceiling. Keep photographs and product information where available. If renovating in phases, record where the new finish stops. The sequence should support everyday life as well as the actual ceiling work.
